Today is a proud day. The Baseball Writers looked at the numbers, sized up the field, and decided that Wins do not define a pitcher. Sure, they’re nice to look at, but they still bypassed CC Sabathia, who received an unbelievable amount of run support, and gave the award to the pitcher with the lowest ERA (2.27), the most innings (249.2), and who struck out one fewer batter (232) than the league leader. All the while pitching for a team that scored the fewest runs in the American League since the DH was forged from the fires in hell.

Truly, this is the age of Enlightenment.
